Welcome to The Computer Science Conference Ranking Website
Last Major Revision Dated: 1 February, 2008

The Conference ranking data shown in this website is based on "Estimated Impact of Conference (EIC)".

    Weights used to determine EIC:

    • CP: 30% - citation of papers*
    • RR: 30% - quality of referees' reports
    • RS: 25% - availability of resources to students by the conference (funds for travel, fees, hotel)
    • JA: 10% - conference papers accepted/appeared in reputable journals after the conference
    • IN: 5% indexing**

        * These articles are good reads about citation:

        http://arxiv.org/ftp/physics/papers/0504/0504094.pdf

** We have decided to reduce the weight for indexing from 10% to 5% for this update. The reason behind this decision was that many indexing companies now have a publishing subsidiary. Many of you have reported that these indexing companies are unfairly biased against conference proceedings/books that ARE NOT published by their subsidiary. For example, many highly cited conference proceedings are not included in "Ei Engineering Village"/Compendex/Elsevier, "ISI, Thomson Scientific", "IEE Inspec", ... On the other hand, some questionable conference proceedings are included in these databases because they happen to be published by their own publishing subsidiary.

Bibliographic, indexing, citation, online libraries, reference systems and publishers RL's were used to determine the citation weight. Only the following type of venues were considered for ranking (all apply):

    • at least 20 refereed articles
    • conference fee must have been set at the academia rate. Academia Rate is currently set at:
      • no more than E200 for a 1-day meeting
      • no more than E275 for a 2-day meeting
      • no more than E350 for a 3-day meeting
      • no more than E425 for a 4-day meeting

Conference fee should cover at least the followings: one full reception, breakfasts, refreshment breaks, one or more tutorials, schedule booklets). Conferences that charge fees at the academia rate should be able to make the venue pay for itself and expect to have a small profit to cover the financial liability of their future offerings of conferences.

Note: We did attempt to use the Ranking Metrics proposed by Prof. Ioan-Lovitz Popescu. We decided that Prof. Popescu's Metrics Formula (IF: Impact Factor - JRK: Journal Rank within Discipline) were only suitable for ranking journals.
